“All Night for You” was built from a guitar riff I came up with during the She Shreds Media #1RiffADay challenge. I used a delay effect on my Telecaster to create what sounds somewhat like backwards reggae beat. The groove inspired me to write lyrics about fantasizing about a lover while waiting for her to come home from work. Producer Sean Flora (The Shins, Beth Ditto) and I built the drums and the landscape electronically. Sean came up with this "whip" sound for the beat that really brings out the kinky nature of the song, and I layered hooky guitar lines and harmonies over gritty synths to create a palpable undercurrent of sexual tension. This is the second single from my forthcoming record, "Where Trees Once Made a Sound," out on August 26, 2022!
